Often voted one of the most beautiful roads in the world. The N222 follows the winding Douro river through a landscape of UNESCO-listed terrace vineyards. This is the heart of Port wine country. The road features 93 curves along its most famous stretch, hugging the river bank at water level. Mostly flat to gently rolling, it's an absolute paradise for slow, scenic cruising. Expect deep blue water and endless green vineyard terraces.
